Hot Aisle Containment & Cold Aisle Containment
Throughout FM Engineering’s experience, we have come to learn that the industry’s leading issues lye in proper cooling of the IT equipment. Perhaps one of the most common mistakes in a data center is failure to have the racks arranged in “hot” and “cold” aisles. This is essentially done in attempt to separate the cold air feeding the equipment, from the hot air exiting the hardware. As helpful and efficient as this technique is, at some point the hot and cold air will mix in the room, raising the overall temperature.
FM Engineering has taken this technique one step further in offering Hot Aisle Containment & Cold Aisle Containment. All data centers have different types of equipment, designs, and layouts, leaving no single solution in terms of incorporating a Hot Aisle Containment or Cold Aisle Containment. FM Engineering uniquely designs custom Hot Aisle Containment & Cold Aisle Containment’s to fit the needs of any data center. By doing this, we can eliminate the mixing effect, which in turn increases the overall efficiency of the CRAC (computer room air conditioning) units and ensures the IT equipment is always sufficiently cooled.
